A fabric-coated unique headboard is easy to do and requires only a few plywood, a staple gun, plush wadding, and patterned fabric of your choice. Stretch batten tightly over the plywood before stapling it on, and do the same with the fabric. When done, add decorative details using furniture pins and ribbons.
For a shabby chic look, use shutters for a bedside table. They are available in all shapes and sizes from the local hardware store, and you can paint or paint them any color. They can also be grinded and painted to create a “distressed” look for a more vintage feel. If you are looking for a unique headboards only decorative purpose, this can be accomplished with a decorative curtain rod and the structure of your color scheme and pattern. Another option is to use an old sliding gate or fence, both of which can be attached to your bed frame. You can then wreath the flowers or ivy through them.
